@ireneista I have a good answer! It's therapeutic for me.

I'm autistic and if I get out of my comfort zone or am stressed in the wrong way it can be really overwhelming to view the world in an unusual way - so programming for me is the practice of making sense. Of spray-painting random strokes on all these ideas that feel so foreign & established; timeless and unchangeable.

By writing a partial inaccurate implementation of some research paper or graphics library I get to really experience how I shove up against those ideals. Sometimes I'll really believe why something is done in a certain way, but still resist it because it's out of reach for my skill level. And that's wonderful to just kind of wallow in.

Learning at whatever pace my mended little brain can handle ​🖤

@MaddieM4 You may enjoy knowing that the expected procedure is to install Node.js and a thing called "corepack", which is like "rustup" in that it downloads native JS toolchain binaries of a version specified in the project directory and transparently runs them when you run pnpm. Isn't that a treat ;P

Nuffy is still much closer to Phanpy's taste than mines; I'm focusing on divide-and-conquering the most problematic parts with the least coding effort ATM, and that doesn't really shine through.
The various kinds of content consolidation (like the boosts carousel) make navigation basically incoherent at my screen resolution.
Is it the horizontal scrolling? I'd love to hear a bit more as I definitely feel Nuffy is too focused on mobile UX rn. Also, I will take the short usernames into account - that's a good one.

Good luck finding a CLI client, think you'll use the kitty image protocol for that? Or just plaintext?

re: advice-ish @ShadowJonathan @joepie91 yeah largely agree with this, and i think most of it can be captured with the following simple truth, that recovering from a fuckup is a skill one should have. perfectly engineering situations means you don't learn it, and the muscle withers

i knew someone who was VERY good at this, but it was very mentally taxing for me to standby & watch because of how it looks just like neglect from afar - the difference is when you're aware of this process, which she wasn't.
