I wonder what modern architecture and infrastructure would look like if we hadn’t been so lucky with concrete having basically the same thermal expansion coefficient as steel, and preventing it from rusting..

would everything be almost entirely made of steel? would skyscrapers exist? would trains be the prevalent mode of transport?

thinking about things like this is probably how you do good sci-fi/alternate timeline worldbuilding if your target audience is also incredibly autistic
