It seems that accounts with custom Emojis in its display name (?) breaks my mobile fedi client at least with GoToSocial as backend (Toot on iOS). It doens't happen all the time, but for most accounts. In the timeline the posts just don't appear and when I click on a post that replies to such an accounts' post or search for such an account, the app throws errors. :/

@leona toot does work for me with both this instance and akkoma (with the example of @fugi :) ) so seems like gts related?

@kloenk @fugi no, her account works (but it shows as "Lyn ​:coweat:​ ​:verifiedlesbian:​", also in the web interface), e.g. @star breaks, which btw also shows correct with rendered emojis in the web interface

@leona @fugi @star huh. For me lyn gets rendered with the correct emojis both in the app and on web. but star has only the text of the emoji both in the web interface and the app. technology is fun :)
