as well as a general sentiment to "make good use of our limited computing resources" e.g. on ?[this page](<https://docs.codeberg.org/ci/#using-codeberg's-instance-of-woodpecker-ci>) it says "Resource usage must be reasonable". and, uh, AI is anything but. Even GitHub can't keep up with the server needs for all those AI projects. And they're backed by a Corporation with Unlimited Money. I think it seems entirely expected for Codeberg to proactively moderate the kinds of projects that will cause that kind of unprecedented server load.
re: AI@sodiboo@2something I am unsure but don't the "used resources" refer to Codebergs resources in this instance? That doesn't necessarily change by using AI. Regardless, I think finding loopholes is the wrong move anyway. I would ideally like it that Codeberg forbids projects using generative AI to write/contribute code from the platform, then we don't even need to hinge on this

yes, and my point was that "agentic coding" is creating such immense activity on GitHub that it is exhausting their resources. not just the wastefulness of the LLM itself of the Earth's limited natural resources, but GitHub can't keep up with the load because AI just pushes more activity so much faster.

yeah, i agree. it'd be much better if they have an explicit clause to turn away "Agentic-first" repos.
especially because i think it fits right in with their existing messaging, and also their social role as "GitHub but not shit". people such as myself are moving away from GitHub to platforms like codeberg because, among other reasons, all the vibe coders are there, causing the network effect to act in reverse. it'd suck to see Codeberg not turn away this thing that drove me away from the other plattform.
