oof they made NixOS on raspberry pi even more of a giant pain in the ass – by moving the vendored kernel out of nixpkgs, so now you have to compile it yourself on every update. Which takes forever even if you have a fast aarch64 machine on hand for building. 🫠

@navi @kloenk I guess until they figure out some build caching solution I'll have to try my luck with the stock kernel.

@hsza sure there is, it lives in nixos-community/nixos-hardware now, and they are working on getting hydra to build everything to get it into the main binary cache. Just would have been nice to do it the other way round.
