tbh if Excel's UI wasn't completely unusable garbage that just stands in your way in some parts, it would be kinda fun to program useful stuff into spreadsheets

Wanna do complex formulas and format them neatly? No typing linebreaks in the multi line input field allowed!
(I resorted to editing in VSCodium with syntax highlighting, and copying it over.)

Wanna split big formulas out into reusable functions? You can actually do that with "defined names", really cool!
But only via a Lambda expression, and all you get is a
single line input that is completely, utterly broken (arrow keys insert random autosuggestions, clicking somewhere does not correctly place the cursor in some cases, not even ctrl+a to quickly paste in something as replacement)

There were apparently a bunch of powerful functions and other features added in recent years, so clearly there are efforts to make this all more
useful. But it's not usable at all. I wonder if no one at microslop ever tries to use this stuff they develop.

@fugi clearly the solution is to first build your own spreadsheet app optimized for your use case
