cw meta / re lewd Had to unfollow an account I liked to read after they boosted tons of (good, tbh) porn into my timeline that was neither cw'ed nor marked as sensitive.

Please, CW your stuff, I do wanna see it, but not without being able to decide if I want to open it in the moment! And don't boost non-cw'ed porn or triggering shit! It's really not that hard!

Why do nsfw accounts always have to be like this.

cw meta / re lewd @fugi Wouldn't it be better / simpler to block/mute the accounts from which the posts originate instead of the account that boosts them?

cw meta / re lewd @Jain better maybe, simpler I don't think so, no. If someone boosts un-cw'ed stuff by one account, they could boost un-cw'ed stuff from anyone else next time

re: cw meta / re lewd @fugi remember that it's valid to report unmarked uncwed sensitive content that gets plopped onto your timeline, in fact you should report it - good instance admins will talk to the people in question, or forcibly cw those posts

re: cw meta / re lewd @fugi mastodon needs a community driven cw system, like clearly having post authors deciding cw isn't working well.

I think cw's should be tokenized in the sense that something like "transphobia" could be its own cw so that I can filter that out specifically, instead of the cw being a string. in the same way hashtags are individualized and I can see everything under a specific hashtag.

and then the community should be allowed to suggest cw's onto posts and if enough suggestions for a cw is hit its automatically applied.

I think it would save a lot of headaches.. the cw system is like one of the biggest things people complain about. the system we have is obviously better than nothing but definitely not a good system.
