@artemis Please please please let's not have "Discord but open source."

Discord has always been an assault on my senses. I can't stand so many of the UX design choices it makes. There's no way to turn off all motion. You get subscribed to every channel on the server and have to explicitly mute things you're not interested in.

I really hate that there are some folks I can only really chat with on Discord; it really doesn't work for me, and I'm really glad that this means that hopefully people will migrate to alternatives, but I dread the alternatives just being discord clones.
