And, because I am apparently unstoppable, I wrote and merged another PURR, which simplifies the creation of new sessions. An oversight during the addition of OIDC into polyproto made this much more complicated than it shouls have been. Not quite as exciting as this other PURR, but still neat! neocat__w_

Today we merged "PURR-2026-0020: Continuity: Network access with unavailable home server".
This protocol update formally defines how you can continue interacting with the polyproto network (for example, chat rooms) while your own home server is experiencing an outage.
Writing this down formally has been long overdue, but now, a solid initial version is finally part of the core protocol! neocat_polyproto 💜 fluffyTailFast

This blogpost is written quite hastily, which is because I allocated myself only 15 minutes to write it (ended up being 25, but who is counting!). I don't like writing blog posts because my thoughts are often a never ending stream of yapping, and combined with a degree of perfectionism, this makes me work on blog posts so long that I end up losing any interest in finishing them. But intentionally forcing myself to publish something very rough around the edges due to the artificial time constraint has helped! This was actually quite fun to write. A nice bonus of this being very unrefined is that it is also very authentic neocat_floof_cute
