@polyproto hi, this looks like a potentially interesting project!

I know that it's still in the very early stages, but what I missed most in the documentation is how it attempts to solve the fundamental issues that plague existing protocols, especially when it comes to key verification (approximately nobody does it, negating all the fancy crypto) and fully distributed group chat state management (unclear if theoretically possible at all). Do you have any resources on that?

@lambda @polyproto Hebbo! Could you perhaps elaborate on what specifically you mean by "key verification"? My brain found a couple ways to parse that and is not sure how to proceed neobot neobot_heart_pink

@star @polyproto verifying that a given public key actually belongs to a given person/identity. Basically the hard, human-involving part of any cryptography problem.

@lambda @polyproto Ah, yeah :) Out-of-band verification of cryptographic material is sadly still missing from the specification. Thanks for the reminder! I'll make it an issue so that that does not get forgotten about :) If you'd like to give more input on the topic, please do! espeon_love
