nostrToday, after having phrased it this way for 6 months, Nostr (federation protocol project) changed their website from saying
"Nostr is an apolitical communication commons"
to
"Nostr is an inclusive communication commons"
about 2h after I complained on lobste.rs about this making me not interested in the project. This was in a thread about polyproto, which is my own federation protocol. About 1h after this change was made, someone actively involved in Nostr since 2022 asked me: Where did you read "apolitical"?, which feels strange, given the fact that that person must have seen Nostr's website in the past 6 months, and this phrase was in the Sub-title to the websites' huge headline.
re: nostr@star that whole thing looks very weasely, and the fact that it’s always used by some shitty kind of cryptobros and channers definitely doesn’t help

I don't think it changes that the entire protocol seemed so full of cryptobros and their culture that it bothered me. So the word change feels almost hollow in context
I rather not to cert management to access my own social media icl
nostr@LunaDragofelis@star yeah our serious opinion of it is that the anarcho-capitalist theory of just delivering messages and leaving content to somebody else does not work
we're against centralized content policy enforcement mechanisms but that means there need to be social mechanisms to take their place
