I think everyone should learn what it means to beg for forgiveness. This world is ruled by monsters who murder people by the thousands and who will never repent; that's an old word that means changing your behavior. You need to learn what it means to do more than say you're sorry, you need to learn what it means to be sorry. There's a lot I'm sorry for and if you demand I spell those things out I will because I did them and I am truly sorry and I will die as a vagrant before I do any of it again. Nothing will ever get better until you care enough to change! You cling to your copes and your hatred the way a parched man in the desert chases an oasis, but the only water is love.
people will say the consequences of their actions are regrettable and pretend to care about it but then move on like it never happened and do it again. how many times I've seen that! you never cared one iota if you keep repeating the same mistakes. hear me when I say it doesn't have to be like that. you can keep the same friends you have now the rest of your life. you never have to be perfect! all you have to do is care enough to try
the key to it is that you spend one second not defending your ego or you honor. just try living a second in the shoes of the one who bleeds. it doesn't matter what happened to you before. it matters what you did. get in front of someone you hurt and let them do as they will to you. soak it in and pull their words into your heart. you never get past the moment of your transgression against another person until you fully understand that transgression. you never understand how to love until you understand the consequences of your own hate
and I'll bet this won't make the rounds as they say, because it's a bitter pill. but I don't care. I hope it worms its way into your conscience and forces you to reconsider the way you dealt with things before.
I wish it were less upsetting to just talk about all this. I wish nice people weren't idiots about all this. I wish the slightest inkling of power dynamics would cross the minds of the people who can joke about it now.
