airing slight grievances about FOSS music players Can ANYONE tell me why the fuck it is so hard for open source audio players (esp. Navidrome clients) to have functional audio normalization??????? One track is normal, the next is super silent; I turn up my volume only to have my ears exploded when the next track starts playing. Yes yes, ReplayGain, sure, but why don't you just.............. do this as a completely client-side feature. aaaaalkjisdflkj;sdgflkj;sgdflkj;sfgdlkj;

@star Yeah, loudness is a psychological thing so it would vary person to person.

iirc some players would let you adjust the replaygain tags so you can tweak particular tracks that you find annoying. You can also check if your tagger is using replaygain 2.0 which uses the industry standard EBU R128
