To be clear I recap needles during procedures because they have to be on the sterile field for an extended time and the risk of the table or the drape getting knocked over, or stabbing myself while reaching for a different tool, is greater than the risk of recapping the needle when done right.

@iro_miya huh, are you refilling your syringe over and over? my guy likes using fixed needle syringes drawn in advance, which i think makes it easier for him to see how much he's already used and all that jazz. it's also less interruptions, ofc with the cost of more waste

@mei no I dont refill syringes but I do fill all of them at the start of the procedure because once I have sterile gloves I can't unpack anything or touch the vial. That's why they have to hang around the drape for a while!
