I'd like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Chrome, is in fact Google/Chrome, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Google+ Chrome. Chrome is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another over-the-wall component of a fully functioning Google system made useful by the Google distributed build system, marketing campaigns, and feature treadmill money.
Many web users run a modified version of the Google system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the browser which is widely used today is often called Chromium, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the Google system, reporting to the Google mothership.
There really is a Chrome, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Chrome is the browser: the program that allocates all your system's resources to itself. The browser is useless by itself, it can only function in the context of a complete corporate interest takeover of the World Wide Web.
