@piegames so this setup is very simple: camera (EOS R10), tripod (cheapest one), builtin camera mic. something i would like to have is always-on midi capture regardless of what the rest of my workflow might be, which would require employing a linux sbc or even an mcu.
haven't gotten around to that yet, but it would allow progressive enhancement; e.g. rendering the midi down to a nicer audio without the key clacks from my nails - and that could be done in post lining up the two audio tracks.
but as you can see this is unnecessary :D most important thing IME is to just have the least friction. today this is: screw camera onto tripod mount, put on tripod, start piano, hit record, mash away. if it loses that mechanicality (and perhaps requires me to launch a program on my pc) then it makes me much more likely to procrastinate
