i'm getting the urge to do a thing...
my mum has ??? years of paperwork that she is against throwing away because it 'might' be useful
but to sort through it all means making lots of decisions.
so i wondered about a workflow involving a sheet feed scanner with a small number of buttons on it for network storage locations. something like "work", "household", "medical", and "other"... or something. i don't know .. it can be tuned right? it's just a first pass at sorting
then it can be eaten by paperless-ngx and get OCRd
i wonder if it's helpful, or if it's just throwing tech at a problem. i worry it's the latter.
what i didn't want to do was suggest bulk digitising and throwing it all away in one go, because then the problem has been moved from the physical domain to the digital domain...
