Hey Rust community.
I know, this is a very tough pill to swallow, but you are, in fact, allowed to release a v1.0 of your crate after having it in v0.x territory for the last 9 years.

I know. I know. This is a sensitive topic. I am aware. But I really feel like I have to say this, given that some of you (glances angrily at log, chrono, rand) have been shipping as "pre-release" for well over 11 years now :neocat_scream:

@star The funny thing is that often people start referring to v0.20 as v20, so when they finally decide to leave zero-space, they have to skip to v22.0 to avoid confusion. So, like, what was the point?

(these are actual version numbers from the wgpu crate)

(that being said, I too have a crate that has been sitting on 0.8.4 for almost two years. I should probably update it and make it 1.0 already. Or 10.0 I guess)

@star It's honestly one of the things that keeps me of the language. The very spec they point to states explicitly that 0.x is for early development without stability guarantees only and should not be depended upon.

So basically: Almost the entire ecosystem claims to not be production ready…
