duckduckfedi what are common strategies to predict/mitigate thermal runaway in lithium batteries that look fine, but that you don't quite trust, because they're old and/or may have been deep discharged

(in a domestic/home office setting where “keep anything flammable x metres away” isn't a viable strategy)

@lis ah. well, i think for the "how fucked am i" question, an unattended/unnoticed li-ion fire is heaps worse than an already very bad noticed/attended li-ion fire, and i guess that charging devices you think are sketchy in such a bag would be a hopefully decent preventative measure
