social punishment on fedi is so weird and we find it quite worrying
we keep seeing certain fedi bubbles going out of their way to imagine the worst possible version of something and then react to that imagined version as if it were fact ...
it feels like for those folks everything gets reduced to cartoon villainy if there is not enough pre-established trust. any criticism that could have been a discussion gets escalated into a sentencing
that also removes the possibility that something can be flawed without being evil, and that folks can work on flawed things without being malicious
we're really glad that we have gotten more resilient and have been able to get better grips on our trauma responses because the response to the post about the app we worked on from yesteday might have sent us a few months ago
we only wish that some folks would just fucking take a breath
