partiarchy/feminism, men suffering under patriarchy@icantchangethisname Well, I think it depends on how you look at it.
I do think I get the type of person your post seeks to single out: the kind that is actively ignorant and rejects feminism out of fear of... I don't know what, exactly. But I think it is important to consider that in our patriarchal societies, men also suffer significantly. You're not allowed to be sensitive, to feel emotion, or to express yourself through clothing or hobbies that might be seen as "typically feminine." And as an ex-man myself (hehe), I do think that stuff is extremely traumatizing, to the point where this toxic masculinity is probably generationally self-sustaining, because making the world better for everyone would mean "being weak" under their model.
@star@icantchangethisname patriarchy harms everyone, but imo, the people that tend to complain the loudest about male oppression are in an environment that isn’t doing a whole lot about toxic masculinity - in fact they seem more interested in perpetuating it, see the manosphere
partiarchy/feminism, men suffering under patriarchy@aura@icantchangethisname It's true. They are driving their own suffering forward, and they don't even realize it. I think that's both pretty fucking grim and also... just... sad
