@star I got my first tax return a few days ago!! Still feels weird to get basically a second salary worth of money transfered from ZAHLUNGSVERKEHR BERLINER FINANZAEMTER. Also, it only took them two months from hand in to payout.
@seabass Well, in Germany, if you are just a regular ol' employee, your taxes will be paid automatically by means of your employer deducting them and transferring the post-tax salary onto your bank account. In that case, if you do your taxes, you do them to recoup the money you paid in excess. I am afraid it's not enough to buy a yacht for me, in which case everyone here would get free HRT and SRS 💭 But it's still probably a nice sum!
