Aside from it being a google thing, wasn't AMP actually pretty cool? I remember stumbling upon an AMP page and just being extremely impressed when it just loaded instantly, no load or render times, just... all the content right there at your fingertips
@star nah, you do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to AMP. that thing was a blatant attempt to try to get as much content publishing on the web reliant on google as possible. you could have gotten all of those benefits by simply not using half of your transferred size on redundant javascript, and the other half on serving ads, both of which are problems that AMP emphatically did not attempt to solve. good fuckin riddance if u ask me
