LLMs and their usefulness, or lack thereof LLMs are merely disguising themselves as freedom.

Ultimately, they require such immense resources to train and often also to run, that you'll always be shelling out to some company for the models in one way or another. With your data, subscriptions, or else.

Additionally, you often can't get anything even remotely usable out of them if you're not already active and experienced in a given field. At which point, why bother babysitting a wannabe intelligence?

None of us will be able to pull anything truly independent and useful out of this until the bubble (and probably economy) has already collapsed.

LLMs and their usefulness, or lack thereof As per even the FSF's values, this isn't freedom.

You don't know the weights. You don't have the datasets. You don't own the models. And you're always below some massive corporation's will.
