How bad is condensation buildup after prolonged use? How well does it work with glasses? How comfortable is it to wear over, say, >=3h of use? How costly are replacement filters?
@star Very comfy to wear (especially for prolonged use), however if the air around is moist it can quickly switch to annoying. The condensation buildup is definitely an issue but as long as your head stays upright it's fine - you just empty it when you have a break (i did 5 hours of ICE just fine with it)
in france, RS particuliers is the only seller of filters (20€ a pair)
@star Germany, limited use so far, pretty comfy. no representative data on condensation, I did experience some but I haven't used it enough to say for sure how bad it is. not wearing glasses. replacement filters, uhh, never ordered them myself, always got them in a bulk order with some queers, and it's been a while, I have enough filters lying around to last me a little while.
@star@Texan_Reverend would probably be a great person to ask regarding respirators. They might not have experience with that particular one, but should be able to help point you in the right direction.
@bgarfoot While I appreciate you thinking of me when the topics of masking and respirators come up, the questions asked by @star were quite specific and did not invite discussion of other models.
Since I do not have direct experience with the MSA 900, I unfortunately can't provide any answers to those questions.
The only heads-up that I can contribute is that the MSA 900 is known to have a rather wide face opening compared to other elastomerics, but it is not similarly large from nose to chin.
