First, I was sleep deprived and had only just finalised my plan that day. That was not just stressful, but also meant that I didn't have many options. I was travelling from Munich, but had to go to Regensburg to get on an available train.
Because I couldn't let myself get bahned, I ended up going two hours early. Regensburg Hbf is not a pleasant place at night.
At Regensburg i stress about making it into the right train set, because the train is set to split later on to also go to Amsterdam. I made it into the right set despite the information system being broken on the set to Hamburg, and the station display only showing one set.
I then go about to look for one of the attendants. Because I booked on the same day, they're not expecting any passenger boarding the train set. I was just not in their paperwork. I had to pass through a broken door that had to be forced open to find them. Also, I couldn't even see the carriage numbers from inside the train because again, the info system was broken.
I finally check in and get my mini cabin. While undressing my outdoor clothes I immediately get locked out, as the cabin door closed unexpectedly due to train movement.
The only luggage that I have space to stow away properly is my suitcase. My boots, backpack, and coat all had to go in my cabin. There was a shoe locker, but my stompy boots didn't fit.
Sleeping was kind of difficult, and I found my body aching from the hard mattress.
I didn't set an alarm, because I had heard that the train crew would wake me up an hour before arrival. Instead I wake up naturally a few minutes before arrival, at which point I panicked a bit while getting out of the train as quickly as possible. The train remained on the platform 10 minutes after arrival, but I didn't know that.
@freya My gods that sounds very stressful, ahhhh D: Especially with all the breakage involved Thank you for going into so much detail, and I am sorry about the delayed response; I was pretty occupied today, but finally now had some quiet time to read what you wrote c: I hope you have a nice evening, Freya!
