To beings here that have used AirVPN or know of it: Would you recommend it? Seems like a pretty good competitor to Mullvads' offering, but with port-forwarding...

Their Client "Eddie" is honestly quite bad.
I just get the WireGuard configuration files, which work great.

Port Forwarding works great too. The ports stay reserved and don't change.
Also the site can find you sequential free ports.
And you get automatic DDNS too.

I like their pricing (especially the three day plan)

And speeds are good, both when testing and in reality (Both tests done over WiFi on my Phone. First Image is without VPN, second is with)
(Don't ask me why the connection with VPN is faster, I have no idea why it would be this way neofox_googly_shocked)

Overall I do like them, just don't use their client
