today is the last day of the rail frenzy and i am eepy as hell

i have some obligation tonight so i can’t ride until midnight, so today will be an early start early end day

we go to nottingham and then immediately come back, in hopes of catching a class 810 going up to st pancras (and finally complete the funny line in my GPS tracker)

it kinda sucks because only one pair of class 810 is scheduled to run (and it u-turns in london, instead of originates from london); and i would have no time to explore nottingham properly, but doing this tomorrow or any other weekday would cost me at least £37 more, so … i am going to save some pounds i guess

if i were free tonight, i’d travel on the 810 that goes to nottingham later in the day, tour the city and then return

if GWR weren’t detouring, i’d travel to bristol or cardiff just for the funny (i’ve never been to wales)

if it wasn’t winter, i’d go to southend or some other coastal town

1) Thameslink all departs on EMR platforms at st pancras today
2) letting everyone through the gates just so all of us can wait on the platform for a few more minutes is not very cash money of you, EMR
3) gate staff still gave the rover ticket a good look before letting me through, but didn’t ask any questions this time

(£14 upgrade via seatfrog, got an individual seat with a lil table, not complaining)

what is happening
the same passenger information display as the previous post, but showing TfL live updates (like in the elizabeth line) line names are in the TfL font (johnston), and the status is in South Western’s own font; but “Overground” is also in South Western’s own font, and the line name for the Elizabeth Line is “TfL Rail”
