It seems like #ccchh does not care about this at all as it apperantly is enough to be in the military to not be welcome anymore, regardless, of what the person actually does there.This does not represent the openness and variety that I would like to see in my spaces.
Imo a really bad decision has been made here regardless of my personal oppinion.

I am glad about every entity that decides to potentially risk their life in order to take part in defending my freedom (e.g. being trans) against those that would prefer that Id rather not exist. And I appreciate every queer person that decides to wear a uniform of any kind to bring change into any institution that is notoriously overrun by the opposite kind of people.
Excluding those from our spaces will make them feel unwelcome in either space and that can be a sould crushing feeling.
Also: Being able to "Just switch Jobs" or to "Just do something else instead", as some might call for, is not only unreasonable, but also something that requires quite some priveledges to do.
@star I can clarify a bit further: most people use CWs in unnecessary or unhelpful ways. I have my own instance so i dont need to self-censor. One can use word filters or implement client-side solutions to not see certain content. I dont see it as my responsibility to decide what others might find CW worthy and prefer open and free communication wihout extra barriers.
@nicole4fox i think you can squint and use the same line of arguments against alt text just fine and that signifies that to me, this is not a good line of argumentation
@star tbh I don't care about alt texts either for personal posts that are not announcements and not meant to spread around. I am aware how much more accessible it would be if I did care more but I am here to vent and scream into the void and it is fully selfish. Maybe also to stay in contact with some beings. I am using this plattform the most convenient way to me without any regard to anything else just as I use Twitter. Otherwise it would be too exhausting. I am chaotic and so is my instance. I dont plan on changing that either - just block me or my instance and you wont have to bother with any of this - I couldnt care less right now.
