well, that said, it's cute and all, but our common online culture as a whole could learn a thing or two about the conforming effect of flat labels or how psychiatry is maybe not the best lens through which to view and own our experiences,

ya know?

@SharpLimefox why isn't it? Getting my diagnoses and understanding them has been such a huge part of understanding myself and growing as an individual. And connecting with like minded individuals + being visible also seems like a good thing

@star that makes sense, i guess? it's such a foreign concept to me

like i guess it can be akin to how identifying as trans finally allowed me to connect to a pool of folks similar to me but... even then there's a lot of heterogeneity. Communities are porous, and have different dogmas, and it always rubs me the wrong way when, like, folks pool everyone under "the trans community", so i guess i'm convinced the same also exists for labels that come from psychiatry etc?
