When I used CWs, I got complaints. When I don't use a CW, I get few to no complaints. On balance, it's rational to avoid content warnings.

Content warnings are rare and getting rarer. If you want to avoid some subjects, then you might have better luck filtering hashtags and keywords (Preferences/Filters).
