incredible example of the impact of a good cis ally to trans folks: my university prof
i made a comment one day about the single stall washrooms in my faculty’s building being gendered and how ridiculous that was
she fought for that to be changed with much pushback from the business faculty (and won)
and she pushed for that further around campus after that change
and she mentioned to me today how, when designing the new building on campus, they made ALL the washrooms gender neutral because of HER push on this topic
i never told her to advocate for me, she never wanted credit for these actions (they silently changed and i only heard about them later in natural convo), she just heard me and acted with what power she had to advocate for change
