@byte consider nix helper aka. nh. nh search pakidgename is what i use and it works very nicely :3

but idk your setup, obviously; maybe this doesn't fix your specific problem

@star no i know there are tools that do that, i just expected base system to be self-sufficient and instead got flashbanged by that kind of crap
