annoyed at matrix i love how element just fucking deletes the encryption to all your private messages when your computer gets low on storage

oh boy, i sure need to be aware of that, or else ill just fucking lose my entire DM message history with people :)

annoyed at matrix @ShadowJonathan if you set up up key backup, your keys... should be backed up, so that there ideally shouldn't be a way to lose access to past messages. but yeah, this fucking sucks

annoyed at matrix @star if you only had 1 session, and all decryption keys were sent to that 1 session, and it's been more than a week or so since you opened your client, and then this happens, then you can suddenly just lose access to those recent messages, since for key backup, the client needs to be online to save those keys in the backup

re: annoyed at matrix @star it wouldnt have to be this way; i remember dehydrated devices, they were a solution to this issue, but element pretty much let it fall to the wayside
