So... Thoretically thinking... How powerful a laser would one need to reach out of the atmosphere... Delivering a couple of MW to low earth orbit?Clearly clouds are awful bad no good things, so we'll assume it's a lovely clear blue sky when someone decides to start zapping satellites.
I assume there exists a set of equations for how much power gets lost by a laser in a gas but I don't fancy adding myself to yet another government list.
