db, transphobia Train manager wanted to see my ticket + BahnCard; sure, standard procedure. Then also wanted to see my ID after not requesting it from any other passenger. Strange, but, ok. After seeing that on my ID, there's a different first name than on the ticket, he wanted to lecture me and already mentioned that he'd have to fine me since my ticket would not be valid with the mismatch in names

I then showed him my health insurance card which also counts as proof of identity for the purposes of confirming the validity of a ticket. This card has my actual name on it, not the old name. Luckily, he didn't complain any more after and just proceeded to the next person to check their ticket.

What I think what happened is that he saw "Flori Ava Star" and concluded that this must have been a fake name or something.
I cannot in good faith assume that he acted in bad faith because of my name and looks, but either way, to try and fine my ass on something so unimportant (especially because my old name is "Florian" which is just two letters away from "Flori") feels like ass.

Some people really just want to make folks day worse for absolutely no reason. Like even if they were confused and just wanted to do their job, they could simple explain why they are confused instead of being a prick about it.

re: db, transphobia @star he sure feels too important and powerful for someone who can be replaced by a gate with qr code reader. slavic internet has a good phrase for dumbasses like that - person with a "concierge syndrome". because ussr and post-ussr concierges in houses are a different type of beast, usually it's some old lady who's very bored and entitled, so she will frequently powertrip and try to make everyone's life miserable for no reason

And he did take quite the unusually long pause after checking my ticket compared to evernyan else

But yeah, could have still been. Either way, it's dumb that I could legally change my name, get a new ID card made for me but get fined for using my legal name while the ID card isn't ready for pickup yet neocat_googly_shocked
