re: Unsolicited recommendation @star that doesn't even support LaTeX, this is not even remotely able to replace it.

LaTeX is like one of the most basic features I'd want from a replacement

this is the exact problem with all of the existing "obsidian replacements"
they implement like half of the features that obsidian does while providing a worse UX

Then there might also be Appflowy. But that has its own suite of problems, and a lot of overhead

And I also know a really really cool obsidian replacement thingy is being worked on by a friend of mine :3

re: Unsolicited recommendation @solonovamax Yeah Appflowy is trying really hard to be a Notion adjacent project. Which, credit where it's due in that regard, but likely not what you are looking for

At least with Obsidian you can rest easy at night knowing you're not losing your data if you ever wanted or needed to leave. That's neat at least...

re: Unsolicited recommendation @star I also sometimes edit my obsidian files from a terminal or even from nextcloud's notes app (whenever I need to share them to others, I share it through nextcloud), so it kinda has to use plain markdown files
