has anyone ever been to this “hackspace for flinta*” that's been announced on the haecksen and geekfem mailing lists recently?

because it sounds cool as fuck in theory, but the lack of information is a little concerning…

yea okay the more i look into it the more red flags pop up

like the fact that they never specify a location more specific than “We pick you up from the airport (Hamburg or Berlin) or the train station in Salzwedel (Altmark)”

or the fact that they have no qualms about using AI slop and in fact want to build “local LLMs”
a collage of six images. five of them look like your average farm life stock photos: a bedroom with view on the greenery, a living room with the same, a black cat sitting on a pole, chickens in and around a wheelbarrow filled with manure, an empty field track. the top left one is clearly AI slop depicting a unicorn in a pink field sitting behind a notebook computer whose underside is an actual book.

a list of third party domains loaded from a webpage. besides multiple CDNs, one domain stands out: gamma.app
the homepage of gamma.app, which promises “effortless AI design for presentations, websites, and more”
