- Patient said they have AD(H)D symptoms
- Patient describes suffering from ADD symptoms
- Patient mentions having tried Methylphenidate (ADD drug) with great success
- Patient would like prescription for Methylphenidate to help their symptoms
- I am a psychiatrist who also does and explicitly offers ADD diagnosis in adults

neobot_error what the fuuuuuuuuucckkkkkk. This makes me so angry. Like yeah, I know places where I could get a diagnosis I guess, but that's bureaucracy and added waiting time. Not to mention that making appointments is on the very top of the list of things PEOPLE WITH ADD AND DEPRESSION ARE NOTORIOUSLY BAD AT

I don't see why doing better than the USA gives politicians the permission to settle with mediocrity and defunds.

And is existential threat (i.e. private company vs tax-funded; civil servants vs regular workers) really a necessary driver for organizations or people to actually put in effort and strive to improve?

re: health care system-, medication, rant @star Doctors are way too skiddish about diagnosis. The whole things feels like a hyper overcorrection from the public perspective of "doctors think everyone has ADD".

health care system-, medication, rant @star Huhhh what the heck?? I got my ADHD diagnosis done by my psychotherapist during therapy sessions, and he obviously knows me even better than any of my doctors, and that was no problem?

I had the same issue years back. There must be a lot of restrictions on psychiatrists to prescribe medication, specifically?


Thankfully my PCP can second my need for medication and prescribe it. If it helps finding a new PCP that takes you seriously can help, assuming they can recommend your need in your state. neoghost
