unsolicited advice @maddy @theking important!!! monitor with resolution & refresh rate != monitor with resolution & refresh rate

There's lots and lots of differences, such as:

- Color accuracy
- Picture quality
- Response time (Grey to Grey), affecting ghosting etc.
- Max. Brightness
- HDR

For that reason, you can easily pay upwards €400 for a 2K monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate, or get a monitor with the same resolution & refresh rate for €200; But they will likely be wildly different monitors

unsolicited advice @theking @maddy That still doesn't mean everything; QLED Monitors for example typically have a higher perceived image quality and objective brightness compared to regular Monitors

unsolicited advice @star @theking @maddy biggest thing is when it comes to backlight bleed. cheaper panels especially for ultrawide actually have horrible bleed and artifacts that make them flicker and feel unusable

re: unsolicited advice @star @theking Oh, for sure. I dig into the models I'm looking at and compare with sites like RTings to help me pick out the best value. Kinda like the $400 55" 4K TVs you can pick up at Wal-Mart vs the actually good ones, I get it, yeah.
