@star yeeeeah the only ones I really commonly saw it on was the Otis elevators with the neon thyratron buttons, as it was possible for a quick static zap off some electrically charged clothing to xmas tree the panel, requesting a stop on every floor! The reset button would drop the supply voltage to the thyratron tubes for a moment, clearing all requested calls.
