I am looking for a PostmarketOS compatible phone model with specific criteria, if exists. Please boost for visibility if you'd like!
- 5G is important. I travel quite a bit and I have significantly better reception compared to 4G - A good camera would be nice to have, but I am already happy if the camera works. That's important to me. - Working NFC, GPS, Bluetooth and of course WiFi is a dealbreaker/must have - I do not particularly care about: Headphone Jack, Phone calls working, 3D Acceleration working, USB OTG working/existing - If it has a somewhat decent CPU that would be really cool, though I have no idea about how well PMOS runs/what the average system requirements are. Maybe important for Waydroid, should I need that
@CakesTwix I know that page, but the list of half supported devices (the one with the nice feature support matrix) only has devices that don't match my criteria. There is a much longer list of experimental devices, but that one would require me ( I guess?) to go through the entire list myself and check for feature support myself which would je super tedious. So I thought I'd ask here
@star what about fairphone 5? it's missing a few things, but i can't see anything you mentioned being missing. if you need, you can dual boot an android rom and pmos, but android can't update any more if you do that. also, maybe the phone is too expensive? what price are you looking for?
@star but what software specifically? the only software i use nfc with is my bank app, which probably won't work on linux, and for bus/train passes, for which there probably exists a linux app, but i don't know it i don't know a lot of the software, because the only form factors i've used linux in is desktop and laptop, and they didn't have nfc hardware
