Fedi vs. social media
Mastodon is not difficult to use.You can get an account on many Mastodon instances (or other Fediverse servers) more easily than you can get an account on Twitter.
What people actually find difficult about Mastodon is that it forces the user to answer a difficult question before they can join:
Whom do you trust? Do you trust the administration of this or that particular instance?
To what degree is this an insurmountable problem? How thoroughly conditioned are people to trust corporations over communities? Is this why people are so averse to the idea of moving to the Fediverse?
Because I sure as hell don't trust corporate social media now. That's why I'm here.
