random thoughts about filtration masks and respirators

My respiratory mask (3M 6100 series knockoff) has an exhaust valve. This makes it inherently a little less safe for the people around me, since the air I exhale is exhausted back into the environment unfiltered.

However comma I would argue that this is still largely different compared to not wearing a mask at all, since I am protecting myself and others by staying healthy and by not catching any airborne virus or other infection from other people which I could then spread!

Codium (VS Code) settings really suck.

- The user settings and the list of plugins you have and have enabled are separate
- The editor offers no variables I know of to locate things like a specific XDG dir, and I am not sure that shell expansion is supported
- There is only one setup: I cannot have differences between devices and workspace settings are in a different place yet again, which is inside the project you are working on. That is just stupid for so many reasons

Please tell me that there is an amazing fix for this, like

Else, I am yearning for ox and perhaps other, non-modal terminal-based editors to get better. No, I will not spend 2000h of my life learning and perfecting vim/emacs/helix; I think those are all really cool, but I have things to do and I am rarely limited by the speed of me being able to perform an action anyway.
