@fugi the issue i am currently experiencing is that i changed my password with passwd and now, when I log out from my session and lock back in, two different keyring UIs pop up, each wanting my password. this is a single user system so bleh

@electrichanna that would be nice. but writing a modern matrix home server or client is not exactly a trivial feat given the size and complexity of the spec. I currently cannot pinpoint what the problem is exactly, but it's likely a lot of edge cases/sub-optimal preconditions coming together which then cause a lot of friction.

It is truly embarrassing how bad the Matrix experience can be. The more diverse your ecosystem of software is, the worse the experience becomes. If you can control the entire stack, then you're likely good. But that's not really in the spirit of decentralization and federated communications systems now, is it?

@CakesTwix I know that page, but the list of half supported devices (the one with the nice feature support matrix) only has devices that don't match my criteria. There is a much longer list of experimental devices, but that one would require me ( I guess?) to go through the entire list myself and check for feature support myself which would je super tedious. So I thought I'd ask here neocat__w_
