Progress in treating my depression: mh+- (depression, seasonal affective disorder), drugs (weed, methylphenidate) Day has been good so far. I am currently starting to feel bad, and as time progresses, the depression will only get stronger. If I am magically better in 45 minutes, we'll know that something about the MPH is working for me(, if we don't consider the placebo effect)

@nileane I personally dislike answering the statement of "we should do this to protect kids" with a statement that even remotely entertains the notion of this whole thing being about children in the first place. It's not. Like most things in right-wing politics, this is a grift designed to get people comfortable with the idea—especially because, if framed like this, it doesn't affect you, the adult.

Confronting back with statements which bring people out of this delusion that this wouldn't impact them, or that this law would work as intended to begin with, has proven to me to be a rather effective method of convincing the "average" uninformed person (given they aren't bigoted from the get go). They don't give a flying shit about children. They never do.
