mh~ (kind of negative, but not really; I'd give this a 3/10 severity)
Right now, with the @polyproto project, I am a bit at a point where I just have to do a bunch of stuff that isn't fun at all in order to get to a point where I can make meaningful progress again, which would be: Getting to work on the home server again. The last 3? 5? months have been so much related to "authenticating to your own home server", which is has been an incredibly boring topic ever since I finished the sub-task of getting a decent enough understanding of how OIDC and SCIM work.
There's nothing new, novel or fun about this. It is a standard that has been implemented thousands of times already, and all I have to do is basically refactoring some parts of my specification to mention and include this standard and write code also mentioning and including this standard as code, so that I can then use it when writing the home server (and already have a client SDK as well, for testing it)
It's not burnout or anything, but this task has very much been feeling like a chore for 80% of the time I have been working on it, which is a lot of time for something ur not getting paid for
